This program is designed to identify, assess, and advance technologies with industrial potential in advanced formulations, drug delivery systems, and sustained-release drugs. It focuses on strengthening collaboration among industry, academia, and technology-driven teams and facilitating technology development and industrial partnerships for selected teams.
Golrang Ventures Specialized Accelerator
Golrang Ventures, as the Innovation and Technology Center of Golrang Industrial Group, established its specialized accelerator in line with its mission within Iran’s innovation ecosystem.
In this accelerator, each acceleration cycle is designed around a specific industrial need, enabling technology-driven teams, startups, and knowledge-based companies to pursue technology development, validation, and market entry in a more focused manner, within the context of that industry and alongside experts in the field.
This approach helps define the needs of each industry more precisely, identify more relevant teams, and create a more practical and effective path for collaboration between technology and industry, while reducing investment-related challenges after the acceleration cycle is completed.
Golrang Ventures has developed this acceleration program in the field of sustained-release drugs and peptides in collaboration with Varian Pharmed, a Golrang Group company with expertise in this field.
Varian Pharmed (Knowledge-Based) Company
Varian Pharmed began its journey in 2010 as a two-person academic research team. In 2012, through a forward-looking investment by Golrang Industrial Group and an M&A transaction, the company became part of the portfolio of the Group’s pharmaceutical holding. This investment enabled Varian Pharmed to grow from a technology-driven team into a specialized company in sustained-release drugs and peptides, with a workforce of 350 people.
Building on its research capabilities, specialized teams, and production infrastructure, Varian Pharmed has established a strong position in Iran’s pharmaceutical industry in the field of complex and high-tech pharmaceuticals, particularly advanced drug delivery systems, injectable products, and sustained-release drugs.
Today, Varian Pharmed is a knowledge-based company with a successful track record in the development and commercialization of advanced pharmaceuticals. Its achievements include 39 injectable drug dosages, 2 operational factories, 4 active indications, 31 products, 3 ampoule production lines, and 2 research centers, Chemotech and Biotech. With a multi-billion-dollar valuation, Varian Pharmed is positioned as a specialized hub ready to collaborate with and invest in technology-driven teams operating in this field.
